Ball Python Care Sheet

Hello! I am getting a ball python (baby), and I hope I have everything I need to take care of him...

-Tank (10 gallon)
-Substrate (non edible)
-Heating lamp (do I get a nighttime lamp or a daytime one, and how many watts?)
-misting bottle (how often do I mist my ball python?)
-shed ease
-hiding spot
-water bowl
-feeding tongs
-mice (should I start out with hoppers or pinkies? I would hate to give my snake an unhealthy diet)

Is this enough? Is there anything else I need for him?

Also, I'm naming him Tesla... Tesla is one of my favorite physicists, and also, the Tesla Coil

Hey, you're off to a good start. I'll copy your list and add in additional comments for each point.

-Tank (10 gallon) - Sounds good!
-Substrate (non edible) - Eco earth, coco husk, paper towel, newspaper, aspen chips
-Heating lamp (do I get a nighttime lamp or a daytime one, and how many watts?) - Depends where you live. 50 could be fine if you're in a warm part of the Country. 75 might be best and a simple colour red left on would be fine. Do note these dry out the enclosure so a larger water dish would be best or an undertank heat pad.
-misting bottle (how often do I mist my ball python?) - daily. Twice daily during shed cycles.
-shed ease - garbage product. Don't buy it.
-hiding spot - buy 2 and make sure they are snug to the snake! They like tight spaces.
-water bowl - well done.
-feeding tongs - great idea
-mice (should I start out with hoppers or pinkies? I would hate to give my snake an unhealthy diet) - Hopper or adult mice. Or better yet rat pups/rat fuzzies.

Is this enough? Is there anything else I need for him? - Should be enough!

Re: Ball Python Care Sheet

Tesla is a very cute name for a snake.
