Hello all, this is my first time posting on any forum.
I have 2 kingsnakes, a Mexican Black Kingsnake and a Durango Mountain kingsnake. I bought the durango from a shop and that's what they told me it was. MBK was bought from an expo.
I got both June 2014 as hatchlings/juveniles and there is a big size difference between the 2 right now. I just recorded some data a couple days ago. Durango weighs 207g at 2ft 10in, and the MBK weighs 353g at 3ft 3in.
Nice snakes, sizes seem normal to me. Lampropeltis mexicana is a small species which will top out at about 3 ft normally. Lampropeltis getula nigrita is also not a big species among the other getula, they'll reach anywhere from 3 to 4 ft when adult (3-4 years). It's normal your MBK will be larger than the Durango
