Way too many Wash pictures! (Brazilian Rainbow)

Took him outside yesterday. He sat absolutely still for a good 30 minutes, so I got way too many pictures. The day was sunny to cloudy every few minutes, so we had all kinds of light in these. Took some with the 90mm macro lens and some with the 18-200mm mid range lens. Still need to get some new ones of Zoe and Kaylee.

It's both the lighting and the way Rainbow boas' scales are made, they refract the light in a way that causes them to appear iridescent, giving them a "rainbow" look.
I tried to catch it in a few pictures but didn't totally succeed, in the full sun the area around his head stripes glowed a vibrant, neon purple.

I have no idea, totally surprised me! He did the same thing the very first time he was taken outside, it seemed to overwhelm him for awhile. He hasn't been outside in a long time, so maybe it did the same thing.

I think he is a lovely snake, but I am a bit concerned: What is that dot on his head? Old injury that has started to scab away?

It's a drop of water.
I suppose I should have removed it from his head, because many people looking at these pictures are finding it concerning, but I didn't want to bother him into moving.

I once heard a theory that the outside was just totally foreign to an indoor snake -- the sights, the smells, the sun-heat, even the breezes...and it startled them into just sitting still for some time.

Gorgeous! I noticed the dot as well but in the second picture with it I realized it was just water. I've done that with a few other BRB photos that I've seen to, only to realize that it's water being silly.
