Hello need info about a snake in my house

Hello I have just joined this forum. I have some snakes that come into my house, one of them comes in at least two or three times a week. Sometimes it stays in for several days. This has been happening for about a year now. I don't mind it coming in because it has eaten the forest mice that also come in.

It sometimes does its pooh in the top of the closet (4 times see image) where I can't reach. I have cleaned up after it when it did its pooh in the kitchen floor. I wonder if there is anything I can do to encourage it to do its pooh outside.
Thanks
Kyrani

Welcome to the Forum!

Definitely a type of Carpet Python.

I would venture a guess though that the specific species is an Inland Carpet Python:

I'll let the others weigh in too though since Carpets are not my forte.

Definitely a carpet python and I'm going to also vote inland though I'm not 100% sure. As for the poop I really don't know what to do

Very pretty house guest you've got there! Does look like an inland carpet to me too, but hopefully someone more experienced with carpets will chime in. Unfortunately the only way to prevent pooping in the house is to prevent the snake from getting inside. So if you want to let him stay, then you'll have to accept the poops too.

Re: Hello need info about a snake in my house

Thanks guys,
I thought it might have been a carpet snake but I was not sure. Thanks for the IDs.

I do want him /her to continue to come in so I guess I'll have to put up with the pooping. I've called it Estia and it is a great help in keeping the mice numbers down to almost zero. It is pretty friendly and I've got used to having it around. And it is great to watch it's clever tactics in catching mice. I was just hoping there was some way to toilet train it.
