Peruvian rainbow

I know they're now just brb's, but i have a friend who's holding his for me at a price of $100 he said its fully grown but its less than 4 feet long. I saw the snake in person when i got my king from him but i only saw half of it and it is indeed beautiful. Is that a good price and why is it so small? I've read they are 5-6 feet long

Re: Peruvian rainbow

Under four feet does seem small. But as long as it's healthy I'd say you're getting a good deal.

Re: Peruvian rainbow

It does sound a bit small. how old is it? granted $100 is a great price for them the cheapest I've seen them around for is $150 and was surprised to find them that cheap.

Re: Peruvian rainbow

I'm not sure of the age probably around 2 years old

I'm okay with the size being that small because i really don't want a 6 foot snake right now I'm just wondering if anyone here has seen one this small before.

Re: Peruvian rainbow

If the snake is 2 years old it still has some growing to do. I'd say $100 for one that size/age is a great price as long as it's healthy and eating regularly.

Re: Peruvian rainbow

Well, they start off only at 16 inches or so .....so yes, a 4 footer would be common with every one of them at some point.
Defiantly not full grown unless it's growth has been stunted somehow. It normally takes a BRB about 3 or 4 years to get past the 4/5 foot mark. So, unless the snake is over that age....I wouldn't worry about it.
