We only do shows in NY and PA. Too many different laws in each state to deal with.

Thanks. They're not too bad for the most part. I've been bit twice by the male (both were completely my fault though), never by the female (but I've only had her for about 9 months). The female is CH (so the mom was on a "farm" and the eggs were harvested and hatched in captivity) and the male is an F1 CBB animal (one of the few in the US). They both pee/poop/musk when handled but usually don't bite. They're very flighty.
They usually top out under 6 foot. But they're not very common. Not too many people have successfully bred them.

SUPER jealous of this beauty. I'm in the same boat as Chris, though. Kentucky bans all venomous and rear-fanged venomous(aside from the Hognose) as pets. Otherwise I have a nice list of rear-fanged hots I wouldn't mind adding to my collection. If there weren't laws against them, I'd have a Mangrove snake, Green Vine Snake, and False Water Cobras.
Now, these ones I'm not so sure whether they're in the pet trade or not, and, if so, how common or uncommon they are, but I think they're really gorgeous and would love to have one. The Green and Red varieties of Keelback Snakes, Boomslangs, and the Regal Ring-necked Snake(REALLY love this one).
There are MANY hots that I really love that aren't rear-fanged, so best not list 'em all. I am a huge fan of vipers, however, I just know they have a wicked fast strike.
I do agree, though, I'd like to see more rare non-venomous.

Aren't keelbacks non-venomous, but poisonous? Or are they venemous, too? I for some reason had the impression that without eating the cane toads, they eventually have no poison left in their bodies... though admittedly I know barely anything about these guys.

I thought they were both. A poisonous patch on the back of their 'neck', and then rear-fanged venomous like hoggies and mangroves. I'll admit to not knowing a whole lot about 'em, though.

Brown/green with a bright yellow belly and some of the craziest bright iridescence of all snakes. Very active and has a feed response that would humble a retic.

Red Necked Keelbacks are rear fang, highly venomous to humans if they get a chewing bite.

This thread has turned out better than I had hoped! Also glad others are enjoying it as well. I may have an addition for it soon as well. I'm waiting on a file snake to arrive. Last time I saw one of them was around 6 or 7 years ago at an expo. As soon as it arrives I'll get some pics up!

It'd be awesome if someone had a Mangshan Viper they could post pics of. If I could only have one reptile in my life, I think I'd be happy with a Mangshan. Granted it'd be display only, I'd be happy with that. That or a monitor. I do love monitors.

More Crotalus's please! Anyone have a Crotalus Oreganus Cerberus aka Arizona Black Rattlesnake? Thats my favorite Crotalus very closely followed by Crotalus Molossus.
