new boa

Hi all,
We are new to this forum. We have a one year old male nicaraguan boa T+ Albino. He has an amazing temperament and handles really well. He is currently 3 feet long and takes a large mouse once a week.
Im looking for some help on housing him? He's currently in a 34"×17"×18" viv by vivexotic. I'm thinking of getting him a vivexotic arboreal viv so he can climb and is the space more. What size would you get? Medium or large
Also im very unsure of how big he'll get as people's opinions seem to vary wildly. I'm thinking he'll probably hit 5 feet maybe 5.5feet? Ive heard people say a lot less but as he is 3ft at 1yr I find it unlikely he'll be that small????
I have seen many people refer to nics as dwarf boas, does that mean there are actual nicaraguan boas and dwarf nicaraguan boas as seperate strains? Im a little confused. Thanks for ur help in advance x

First of all, Welcome.

(True) Nicaragua's are dwarfs, they stay significantly smaller than most other boa's. Currently own a 5 year old male, a little under 4 feet long. And a female thats turning 3 this year, she is a little under 3 feet atm. Both with completely known lineage. I have never seen a true Nicaragua male grow past 4,5 feet, or any true Nicaraguan grow past 6 feet. Unless you overfeed them a lot, they should not reach that size. It could be yours is an exception, as they say there is one to each rule. However if your animal grows to 5,5 feet, i Personally would seriously question his lineage, wouldn't breed with him as a 'Nicaragua'. When it comes to vivs, bigger is better. However my adults usually stopped climbing.

At 3 ft and 500g what sub species would he sound like? More importantly at this size for his age how big will he end up roughly? ? We will be keeping him what ever but it'll help with viv selection.

Without knowing the lineage, it is impossible to tell the subspecies. He could be a cross between all kinds of subspecies, since he is T+ it would be even harder to tell. The chance is very big that he is mainly Nicaragua, thats probably where the T+ comes from. I seriously doubt he will be very large, think your initial estimate is not far off. 5/5,5 feet is realistic, i would however start slowing down the feed. Once every 10 days is plenty for a year old male, as an adult he will only have to eat every month or so. (My male gets food every month and only if he's hungry, and he fasts about 4 months a year by his own choice, his weight is spot on for his size)
