Re: On cloud nine.
Figure i update this. Ended up with 27 baby Blacks lost two and 14 baby Dumerils.
Already kicking this season off on a good start. I am pretty sure my female BRB is gravid. She never gets on the heat even after eating and been camped out on it for three weeks. Since the beginning of Nov i have seen 11 confirmed locks. ( She the one in shed)
This guy i put in with one of my females to clean the artwork off the side of his cage. lol ten minutes later i look over to see this.

Re: On cloud nine.
I really, really want a short tail or blood someday. Unfortunately, I already went from one snake for the last 6 or 7 years to 4 snakes in the last few months and I should probably tone it down for a while...LOL!

Lol! If you do get a blood Blacks are by far the mellowest of the three from my experience.

Re: On cloud nine.
I've read elsewhere that "black blood" is a misnomer. Is that the case?

Actually they are short tail not bloods. It Just a nick name given to them because of their color. It also make it easier to let people know which kind of Sumatra your talking about because there are true red Sumatra bloods also.

Re: On cloud nine.
So i separated my pairs so i could feed and give the females a bit of rest. There was a sperm plug floating in BRB's water bowl. Both of my Sumatra Short tail (Blacks Bloods) are packing on weight. My Coastal feels like she already has eggs in her. Now if the female Savu would let me check her out. As soon as i open the cage she gets in the hide. Which i am taking as a good sign because normally she tries getting out of the cage. She not wanting to be messed with for her that's unusual. Fingers crossed.

Re: On cloud nine.
Good luck this year chuck, I've really enjoyed watching you get into breeding. And what a collection you have to start off your first couple seasons.

Thanks Shaun! I hope your season goes as planned as well.
On a down side find out we won't be adding a third girl to the mix. Shaft's owner and brother had went half on her when they bought her. Long story short his brother need money and sold her. Which is fine because i might be able to talk him in to selling me Shaft.
