Any ideas what this might be? (Feline)

Last week, we noticed a scab on our cat's ear, and we had no idea what it came from. Then two days ago we noticed underneath his eye was puffy and seemed irritated and started to show some signs of hair loss. When we woke up this morning (Sunday October 27) he had a large abrasion on the side of his cheek under his eye next to where the puffyness was. There was quite some hair-loss. We have no idea what it could be. We searched high and low to see if he scratched his face on something, but we could find nothing. I washed the area with warm water. He is acting completely normal, he's playing and eating just like he would any day.

I would have taken him to the vet today, but no vets were open- so he will be going tomorrow.

Any ideas as to what I can do for the time being?

If the cat goes outside i wuld guess at a fight with another cat and it should clear up on its own. Our teo cats are bruisers and always fighting, they have never had any long term ill effect form things like this.

He's strictly indoors! You don't think I need to go to the vet? I'm not really sure what to do

Could be a parasite. They can get into ears/eyes and lay eggs. (Gross)! Keep an eye on and make sure it doesn't get bigger. Good luck.

Your SIG says 2.0 cats. Could be from your other cat.

My other cat, Claude, lives with my parents. Moose (the one in the photo) lives with me at my apartment. Sorry for the confusion. He's an only cat!

What could the parasite be from? And how can I tell if it's a parasite?

Yup, I have intentions to call the vet in the morning!

After some research, I think it might be ringworm, but I guess the vet will verify!

Update- We went to the vet today, she said it's probably ringworm but they're culturing some hair/skin samples to make sure so he can have an oral treatment- as for now he has a topical anti-fungal cream.

Its a bit late for me to reply now but my repsonse if there isnt a chance of a fight wound would be a vets for parasite check.

If it was a fight wound i wouldnt bother taking the cat to a vet unles there was oozing from any of the puncture wounds.

Good deal. Shouldn't be a big concern after a few days.

if it is ringworm, try to keep the cuddles etc to a minimum (im sure your vet mentioned); ringworm is a very zoonotic fungal infection I got it from the dairy barn i used to work at, it took about a month of topical cream before it finally cleared up!! though it is not typically a very dangerous bug, just annoying (and ITCHY!)
