Suggestions for Carpet Python setup
It's not done yet, but I put him in there just to see how he reacts with the environment. Anyone have any suggestions for additions to the setup? Trying to think of what would be good to to cover more floor space. I'm probably going to add more plants to the wall for security.

True, the more things on the floor means more of a chance he'll poop on them.

Re: Suggestions for Carpet Python setup
Nice looking setup. Lots of branches at different levels, a carpet couldn't ask for more. I have a bit of fake ivy on the floors in my vivs just to have something there they can slither through for a bit more security but then again my carpets are always out on display and I don't think security is top priority for them

Yeah in his old enclosure I just had straight perches people give to chondros, he didn't seem to like it much.
Could you post a picture? I don't have any at the moment, so I might get some after seeing how it looks like.

Re: Suggestions for Carpet Python setup
Nice, looks great but cleaning stains off of it is going to suck lol. I like the tube idea... maybe I'll get some corkbark tubes.
Nice setup by the way. Love the coastal, I'd get one but I don't have the space.

Re: Suggestions for Carpet Python setup
A baby wipe will remove most of the "smaller issues" for me but if it is bad it gets binned. I get them from a non reptile place so they are only a few pounds compared the the ones with the word reptile on the packet that cost about £13. The tubes are great as they are free and come this Christmas I will be getting a load more after all the presents are wrapped.
And thank you, she is one of my favorites (just don't tell my others )

Re: Suggestions for Carpet Python setup
I was toying with the idea of putting some eye hooks in a row and hanging some fake leaves down from them, it would be like a curtain in front of a favourite perch, might make it feel safe so it would stay up there more.

That's actually how those two fake plants are hung. Thanks, I'll go put some more up.

Re: Suggestions for Carpet Python setup
I think if you want to fill it up so it doesn't look as empty, just get a large fake plant that branches out and plop it in there to give more cover. Thats only to appeal to you aesthetically. He might also enjoy the extra cover but it looks fine as is.

Re: Suggestions for Carpet Python setup
After hearing about people putting in cardboard tubes in for their snakes, I wonder if you could just use thin walled PVC and even spray paint it to match the cage material you use. It would give your snakes the cover they like and you could easily wash them off if they get "stuff" on them.
