Who can I contact for legality?

I was just talking to a breeder of carpets the other day and he told me that carpets are illegal in New York State.... Now this is new to me. As far as I was concerned the only snakes illegal in NY were venemous, giants all the way down to scrub pythons.

Who can I call to make sure of which species are currently legal?

Re: Who can I contact for legality?

i would be surprised if carpets were illegal in NY unless it was a VERY VERY recent change, i have seen carpets at every one of the expos i have been to there in the last few years (this merely SUGGESTS they are not illegal). i will be interested to find out what you find...

I would call your local dec officer they are most often pleasant to deal with and willing to help. However I can tell you with just about 100% sureness they are not illegal
