2 corns in one home
Hey guys
There is a person selling a snow and normal male/ female corn set
She houses them together in a 30 gal
They are for sale for 120$
Can corns live like this? They are almost 2 years old
She says they get lonely when split up

Re: 2 corns in one home
I wouldn't... I'm pretty sure snakes don't get attached or feel lonely. I'm not an expert on snake behavior but that's my opinion.

Re: 2 corns in one home
It will never be"safe" the risk of cannibalism will always be present and can also raise other problems too.

Re: 2 corns in one home
lots of people house corns or other species of snakes together, but it doesnt make it right/correct husbandry. Lots of people don't vaccinate/neuter their dogs or cats, and THAT doesnt make it right/correct husbandry. Further more, lots of people smoke cigarettes and over eat, and That doesn't make it correct, or healthy.
there is no reason to cohab snakes unless you are breeding. There are exceptions to this rule (garters, etc) and there are lots of cohabed snakes that would 'prove me wrong', but it all boils down to risk.
Personally, i wouldn't want to keep ONE adult corn in a 30 gallon tank, so you will probably have to buy an additional enclosure anyways. Just my 2 cents. Im not saying dont go for the deal, im just saying they dont need to be kept together.

Re: 2 corns in one home
I also tried housing corns together against the advice of this forum, for six weeks they were fine, no issues at all. Then one day one started chasing and harassing the other, would he have ate the other one, who knows. Luckily i was present when it happened and able to separate them before anything terrible happened, i will NEVER cohabit snakes again.
