Re: scenting pinkies

i dont see why not... I would try to stay away from the parotid glands though just in case. Any native snake that eats bufos in the wild though shouldnt have a problem with them.

Re: scenting pinkies

I would be a bit hesitant if the toad was WC. I have heard of fish also working too though.

Re: scenting pinkies

I have tried three types of fish over a period of about 6 weeks that is why I am interested in trying frogs or toads. The toads would all be captive born.

The huge majority of toades and frogs you will find are going to be WC... All you need to do is freeze it for a couple of days if you are worried about parasites.

Re: scenting pinkies

ok i found frog scent that is meant to scent fishing lure that is made from real frogs. would that be safe to use on a pinkie or no? If so this may be a cheaper way than buying live frogs and I would not have to worry about parasites.

Without knowing what the ingredients are, I would not use it. What are they using as a preservative?

A real green tree frog will cost roughly 2 bucks. Kill it and freeze it. Any parasites will die during the freeze.
