new IJ, please help!!!!!!
I just went to the Reptile Store in Hamilton (very very reputable from what I've been reading). He had listed his IJ at $350. I said well, I think I have some saving to do. Basically, he said he could do $300 firm. I know he knows me cause I buy mice from him all the time, and I've bought corns too. Do you think this price warrants suspicion or is this reasonable, and perhaps he likes the business? BTW, both IJ's he has are very black and yellow at 6months old. I saw a pic of the mom too...she's nice. Any advice is really needed cause I am only in the area for another day so have to buy b4 that! thanks.
cheers,
MIKE

I've dealt alot with Paul Kennedy of the reptile store. he's a nice guy and he knows his stuff for the most part. It's not uncommon for him to knock down prices because they are always a little high to begin with. more than likely you can always bargain a good 50 bucks off. now it helps if you're a regular customer of course.
congrats on the new IJ.

Shush BurmBaroness don't rub it in
Anyway, Reptile Store's prices are reputed to be quite high, but not totally off the reasonable scale. But 300$ for a 6 month old IJ is still pretty reasonable, so I'd go for it. However, there will probably be some really nice 225-250$ ones at the next show so perhaps you want to wait and see...
BTW, the black / yellow contrast is pretty normal at that age, and will fade some. But since you say momma is nice, then the babies probably will be, too!
Good luck!
Zoe
