Sad Sad Day......
For all of those who grew up in the 70's and 80's with BPS children's television, well, today is a very sad day. Mr. Rogers died today of stomach cancer at age 74. Now my children will have to watch alternate programing.
Any donations in his memory can be made directly to ME. This will help fund my countless years of therapy due to my childhood fears of trains, monotone voices, and countless nightmares of blue cartigan sweaters and slip on shoes. Heeheee..........

Indeed, there is kind of a black cloud here where I work. My boss works in Children's Television and knew him very well. I watched the show until I was probably too old to be watching it.

I never really watched Mr. Rogers, not that it makes his death any less sad, but when Mr. Dressup died... I thought the world had ended! Casey & Finnigan, and the Trunk... I know what it feels like for you Mr. Rogers fans!

I don't see what his nationality has to do with anything. He was still a kind and giving person who spent his life trying to make the world a better place for kids. I wasn't a big fan of his show, but I can still appreciate what he did for children's television.
Wasn't Mr. Dress-up born in the states as well?

I used to watch Mr. Rogers and I also think it is very unfortunate and sad news. He taught a lot of people at least one thing that has helped them in their lives through his show. May he rest in peace.
