Cotton towels as substrate boas including BRB

Good idea or bad idea? Take a look at this, and please let me know what you think.

Re: Cotton towels as substrate boas including BRB

When i first join on here me and Kimberly had a big debate on this. She was against and i was for it. Until the day i fed my big Jungle she struck and missed the rat hit the towel and wrapped. As she wrapped around the towel it wrapped around her and almost chocked her out. I had to grab scissors and carefully cut the towel from around her neck. Then the fun part of removing it from her mouth while in feed mode. Don't know how i didn't get bit that day.

Not to mention i had another snake get all twisted up in one the week before while trying to shed. Just not safe IMO. If i had listen to Kim sooner it would have save myself a major headache. Since i only use Reptile Bar or newspapers.

You asked for it.
I think that a decade ago, it was somewhat forgiveable (considering the infancy of reptile husbandry) to consider something as completely assinine as using towels as bedding.
Now, a full decade later, it's not only unforgiveable, but idiotic. There are a dozen more suitable substrates than towels, and we all know what they are.

There is also cases of snakes swallowing them. Usually burmese pythons though.
