Which Wood?

Hi I'm new here and need some help. I'm building an enclosures for veileds out of Lexan and wanted to tie the lexan together with wood... Which wood would be best and whcih sealer should I use?

pine will work just fine treated with Poly and let to dry VERY WELL. The whole cage is not Lexan, is it? A lexan front with screen sides and wooden back would be great for the little whip-tongue.

Thanks BWSmith. Sorry my bad I should have said that the whole thing is lexan with cut outs on all sides for 36" x 12" screens

Sounds like it will be nice. I think Cham enclosures offer a great variety of ways to express yourself.
