A new page for the web site..

My thoughts were to illustrate how much of a change joining a proper forum can make.

Brady was kind enough to write a short bio of Cassie and how he came to purchasing her, and then I added in the rest.

before I go "live" with it, I would like to ask what the group thinks about it.

the page can be seen at....

Savannah Monitors "Cassie's story"

Re: A new page for the web site..

Ya know, I'm certainly not a real varanid guy or anything, but instead of just including Cassie's story, perhaps create a page of testimonials (for lack of a better word?); i.e. any similar accounts of keepers getting a savannah under the pretense they were easy, etc. and the events thereafter. I dunno...that was my initial thought when reading that story and forming my thoughts for what you might want to do with it.

Re: A new page for the web site..

I actually find it quite comical,in a way because there are almost as many people on here that don't have monitors, it skews some of the learning.Brady is doing okay despite himself-i pointed out that he should look at alternatives to his boredom theory awhile ago, suggesting too low an ambient temp, then weeks later Wayne sees the light and then Brady takes the advice-not because he tried to figure it out but because someone with a website told him.
To me posting his story is good and bad,it shows his errors and correction-but encourages narrowmindedness in finding solutions, because people without monitors are reinforcing his illogical thoughts. If these forums were of help Brady should of figured it out awhile ago-no offense anyone with a little experience would of found it a nobrainer-instead of wasting time on stuffed toys and such.
So after all that i come here for entertainment and V********t for learning-I do look forward to Gregs post-he has a different but same outlook on monitor care with the experience thing going on.

I think it's a great idea Wayne. And the site looks good too. I'll let Alessia be the grammar police for you.

This made me smile, since I find the reverse to be true.

I read Vnet daily for my entertainment.

No matter what anyone asks, no matter what anyone says, Frank's responses are always the same.

It's like a broken effin record Moe.

Get with the times and buy an MP3 player.

Because much like the record, the crap coming out of the speakers is OLD.

In life we tend to listen to those people we like, that we trust and that treat us with the respect we deserve. Unfortunately when people are combatitive, aggressive, rude in their posts then their advice (no matter how good and factual it actually is) is most likely to be ignored.

I couldnt put this better myself. There are two members on this forum that need to take it to heart. Everybody else is very friendly AND informative.
