I wouldn't use tape. If it ever comes up and she ends up sticking to it then you'll have a very sticky situation. It wouldn't be fun.
I would just let it hang. I use a temp gun to monitor my enclosure temps and place the probe on the heat pad.
The probe is supposed to read the temperature of the heat mat and regulate how much power it needs to maintain your desired temperature. You'll have to use some sort of temperature taking apparatus to help with it. The heat mat is attached to the underside right?
Lastly, this is why I use tubs or don't recommend tanks as enclosures. They are finicky to get everything right.

So now i neeed to buy a heat gun?? i have 2 thermometers inn the tank as well? im worried about the probe coming off the mat. and yes the matt is on the bottoms of the tank. she dont like it...its almost like shes trying to excape? iv ever seen her do this before....

Temp guns arnt expensive I got mine on amazone for 15 bucks free shipping and I switch over to tubs cause there way easier to maintained only snake I got I. A tank is my nelson just cause he's in the living room

Ok thats donnt really help me right now, i only have a tank... she does not like that probe in there shes going all around it..i think it kinda freaks her out. she hasnt been in her hide since i put her back on her tank. shes crawled all over the wire and her hide. and is moving faster then ussual, trying to get out too....

Your not hurting your snake just take the probe out and w8 till tommrow your snake will be find gives your snake some rest and less stress

No keep mat on there just don't turn on the mat and 70 is ok for a day just get some rest and when u wake up you will have a clear head

Ok so turn the mat off and take the prob out. done and done. shes still kinda freaking out. but ill turn the heat up in my appartment and make sure its warm, i hope she dont reject the mat and probe. it cost alot of money...Thanks. 70 wont hurt her?
