Balding rats: cause for concern?

Two of my recently weaned female rats are having some balding problems. They are both rex coated rats, one female is much larger than the other. The smaller one just started balding after I weaned her, the other one had started beforehand. The larger female is competely bald on her sides and most of her back and haunches, but hasn't lost any anywhere else, the smaller one is still only thinning alot and her skin is pink. What I am wondering is should I pull them from the rest of the rats (I would prefer not to kill them off yet as they are not large enough for the my snakes to eat, and the one female seems to be growing to size very nicely ) or is this no cause for alarm?

Too be honest - I have no idea .. never seen or heard of it happening ..

Personallly .. I would put them down and either throw them out or freeze them in case it could be cause by some kind of internal parasite (I seriously doubt it though)//

You can let them grow but whats the point of taking such a risk ..

sorry i could not help more..

Yay!

I just found out that indeed these rats are fine, they are just the result of rex x rex genetics, resulting in double rex aka "mock hairless" rats. Worse come to worse they look a little silly

Dom, I'm on the job, I should have pics in a few days (or maybe even tomorrow)

Quervo, hopefully they don't get as confused as I did! LOL!
