I'm sick in the head :)

So, my girl, who i am deseprately trying to show the wonders of snakes, decided shes ready to get a corn and own her own little serpent. So we went to my boy Jerry's house, keeper and peddler of many snakes. Needless to say, my girl got her corn. But not before i could snag a beautiful male colombian boa about 6 months (2 feet or so long) old and an absolutely GORGEOUS slayer retic whose about 3 months old. He also gave me a 20g long tank, a heat source, 2 1000 watt exoterra thermometers, and a bunch of cage furniture. For the 3 snakes and all the accessories it was $250

Needless to say Jerry is the man and i'm happy as a snake on a rat farm! I know you all want pics. Im working on getting the right technology. Here's a link though to jerrys snakes for sale page. i get the retic and the boa

Re: I'm sick in the head :)

I have no experience with them whatsoever, but a quick google search lead me to lean towards "no". Here's one pic:
Epicrates striatus striatus (Dominican Boa, Boa Hispaniola)

Kat. You may be right, however i believe that boa is an Epicrates, or slender boa. Similiar to a brazilian rainbow. Different species. I have a BCC (Boa constrictor constrictor) whose locale is of the dominican republic. Easy to mix up, and thanks for the response

Ahh I see! Well then, your boa amy very well be Dominican! I love this forum, learn something new everyday - thanks for explaining Wish I coulda helped, but I'm sure some boa experts will tune in here soon. And whatever locale he is - he's beautiful IMO

Re: I'm sick in the head :)

It's called a Selayar retic
Reticulated Python - the locales explained - Reptile Forums
If the breeder claimed it was a "slayer" retic I'm worried about the quality, it might not even be selayar.
