Our rescue BRB

He's looking so much better. We took him out in the sun for a few pics today. He's shy - refuses to sit still for pics, so they're not the best shots, but at least they show he's looking more vibrant and irridescent. When we got him, he measured about 57 inches, give or take seeing as how he doesn't sit still for anything.

He's gotten much less head shy too - amazing what happens when you can actually see whats touching you.

Sorry it took so long to respond - we're getting ready to move and things are hectic!

He was being kept in a relatively small enclosure with a Columbian Rainbow (I believe). Both snakes were around 5ft and the cage itself was about 3x2.

But worse than that, the cage had no means of maintaining humidity other than a relatively small water bowl. The humidity was probably in the 50s. I know this snake was in these conditions for several months before we got him, possibly longer and he'd been through about 3 owners.

All in all, he could've been in worse shape when we got him - was dehydrated and skinny. He was very head shy because his eye caps were dented from dehydration and he couldn't see:

Now he's in a 4x2 sterilite alone, with high (85-90%) humidity, eating weekly until he puts on a little more weight, has had a couple of perfect sheds and is doing great. He's not nearly as head shy now that his eyes have cleared up and he can see whats going on around him.

Not the best pic, but you can see his eyes look much better:
