please try and stop worrying and let the chondro settle in they are imo a lot more sensitive than carpets pythons

leave it alone in the quietest place in your house.

only go near the gtp when it's 100% neccessary

only change its water and mist

what are your temperature's ?

they are completely different in nature and temprement to corn's they are far more easily stressed out

give it 10 to 14 days of only going near it for the neccessary husbandry then offer food

heat the food up really hot with a hair dryer especially the head

if this fails try 1 more time after braining the prey item.you need to puncture the skull 2 or 3 times until grey brain matter comes out the puncture holes

give the food another heat especially the head and puncture holes and offer again


if the snake appears nervous of the food only offer the once then leave 7 days and try with a brained prey item

i hope it feeds soon for you

don't worry too much i've had carpet python hatchlings NOT eat until 10 months old with no ill effect

That is a really good idea!! i ll try that next time !! i have a 37G tank. on bedding its reading 82.. 85 will be in middle area..i m using 75W basking SUN GLO Light on him.he has been sitting in the same spot for the last 2 days and nights. i dont sleep till 4 or 5 am ..and i had not seen him moved a little ..normal?? he is about 4 or 5 months old...thanks for your advise

As i said before gtps rarley move, you may want to bump your temps to about 89f at the level that he perches. My guy has his favourite spot and that is the spot that i ensure the temps are ideal.

what do you use for heating during the night ?

i'm assuming the sun glo bulb gets turned off at night so its not got a light on 24/7 ?

rob keeps gtp's so i would listen to him regarding your temperatures

also if your not going to sleep until 4 or 5am do you have a light on in the room ?

your gtp will need natural light cycles so really needs darkness at night you could achieve this by placing a blanket over the glass doors to give it complete darkness

gtp's are quite sensitive species and react to the slightest change in proper husbandry methods (not trying to be cheeky)
