Crappy online experiences. Vent them here.
We've all had them.
A couple years ago, I was on a forum for a podcast that I listened to. Never a group of more adolescent people have I met before. To be fair, there were a few that were pleasant enough, but the vast majority were a** h***s. I was lured into more than one online argument, before I stopped myself by saying...this is my choice to be here. I made my choice to not be there anymore.
So, vent your experiences and try not to name names. Unless it is ok with Wayne....

Re: Crappy online experiences. Vent them here.
Was on a BBC disability forum last year, supposedly a place to share experiences and support each other. Got invaded by a load of nazis calling us all scroungers and scum etc. Was disgusting as there were some very fragile people ying to get help on there. I ended up posting my full home addresss and inviting any one of the nazis to come visit me, anytime night or day - kinda glad noone took me up on the challenge!!

Re: Crappy online experiences. Vent them here.
Gosh Ive had one recently that I'm still butt hurt about. Was member of an awesome forum (as I thought) for several years, love it, loved the people considered them friends!! We even met up for reptile shows and bbq's. This past year I have a rough year. Lost my car, job, almost my house. Several family members going to jail..it was rough. I posted the saga on my fb page(big mistake people love to watch a train wreck) someone got wind of it and shared it on the forum. It quickly turned into a he she said thing. Then suddenly nobody would speak to me on the forum!! so I asked a few people what was going on. I was shocked at what I was told!!! I was a bad mother, I was a "flipper" I couldn't feed my animals, I was out to rip people off, I was on drugs, you get the drift. I had to put my collection up for sale things got so bad..but thankfully I figured something out and got to keep everything and get my life on a good path again. Ive maybe sold 5 animals in my entire life lol sooo I decide Ill face it with a smile and I go back to that forum being me and being active Making friends again..just to show I'm ok.
well another show was coming up we all decided to meet and have a wkend party..I went and these people had the nerve to not even speak to me when I walked up..I even tried to conversate and they just looked at the ceiling like I wasn't even there!!! so I made a few laps and tried to approach them again, One person talked back but was obviously not happy about it, I walked off and haven't been to that forum again. And I'm now looking for a new home where people aren't so damn caddy and judge mental/gossipy lol
it takes everything I have not to post a you a$$holes thread lol

Re: Crappy online experiences. Vent them here.
Unfortunately some people are so sad the only way they can make themselves feel good is to beat up on someone having a bad time. Glad to hear that things are back on track jendee, we have all had years that have knocked us sideways at some point. Hopefully you can consider yourself amongst friends here!!

Jendee i like to say it nice have you here and i think you fit in just find. It's their lost and our gain.
Now back to topic. I was on a Aussie snake forum and my very first post i asked a question about "Would you risk getting bit to safe your snake from a rat biting it back"? I hadn't read all the rules and didn't know live feeding is illegal in Australia. Man they tore me up one side and down the other.

Haha Chuck steer clear from that aussie forum. Everyone is out there to get their kicks from bringing others down on there. I know Shaun and and another friend had a few heated arguements on the topic of jags/hybrids on that specific forum.
I dont go on that one anymore as i find quite annoying to see other people get bashed/flamed for very minor things and then the lynching mob joins in on it.

the ozzy forum is the one place i wished i could appear in person and slap a load of them
i deplore violence and have not threw the first punch in a fight since high school
but for the ozzy's i would have gladly spent 24 hours flying and the air fare to meet some of them face to face
they pi***d me off good time
tearing lumps by way of pm's to a 19 year old girl just because she posted a picture of a jungle/jag
grown men most likely fathers themselves doing that to someone elses daughter
they were brave hiding behind keyboards scaring a wee lassie
i ended up having a few conversations with a decent mod who actually loved morelia and crosses
i politely told the guy i would not be back on his forum and he understood
but yes percy mate i would have loved to have met some of those folk face to face in a dark alley
the one regret i have is i don't get to talk to the decent ozzy's as there were a few and it is the motherland for my chosen species to work with
cheers shaun
