If you wan't to hear something simple yet powerfull and ballsey
bluesy and hard,real rock and roll real, guitar player check out Great White (the reason for my shark tatoo) The guys name is Mark Kendall ,and he probably knows as much about music theory,as I do about building a piramid but he is one of the best players I have ever heard,plays with his heart and his soul a guitar and an amp thats it.He knows when to play and when not to, taught me so much buy not teaching me anything at all!
peace

I'll also recommend a few greats but of a different genre...
Django Reinhardt and Lenny Breau. Listen to these guys long enough and a few things might happen to you…
a) You will become sick with envy and quit playing all together
b) They will inspire you beyond belief, or
c) You will add a new guitar god to your list of gods
Check them out!!!

I've heard of Al Di Meola and Vince Gill, but I'll have to search Kazaa to check out the rest.
Thanks Hip!

I can play any brass instrument - namely French horn. I can also half-way play the guitar and piano... at least I know where the notes are... ^^;;

id have to add james hetfeild for great rythm guitarists and songwriters. also............ stevie ry vaughan kicks all kinds of butt, i mean this is the man that used to put super-glue on his finger-tips then put said tips onto his forearm, wait till it dried abit and then rip some extra skin onto his fingers. well, he did all those bends using 13's!!!!!
