Greg, I also understand where you are coming from- there are more morphs of BPs than any other species, and a lot of times the genetic combos weaken the snake. Spiders and bees and pins often have severe neurological problems. I think one needs to have a line that one doesn't cross and you have to be careful and keep the snakes' health in mind.

I don't want to start a debate on the mutations and their neurological problems but I wanted to correct that pins don't have a natural problem. Spiders do, you are correct in that. All of their crosses do as well.


That is also a lightning pied. Also it's an Axanthic Pied. First bred here in Canada by our very own Mark Mandic. By surprise actually. Well he was second to his customer. Long story short, Mark made some het pieds with a "normal" female. Apparently it wasn't. He now has his own line of axanthic.

You know, you're right Aaron...for some reason I always think pin has spider in it, but pinstripe is a totally separate morph. It's only when you combine spider with pinstripe to get spinner? that you risk neuro problems right?
I think as long as people are careful with breeding, and pick prime stock to breed and continue the bloodlines, then morphs are a wonderful addition to the hobby and add a lot of variety and excitement.

This is my first year breeding ball pythons or any animals. I've been keeping animals for 11 years already.

Wobble will pop up in all spiders eventually. Some have it worse than others. My hypo spider is pretty bad all around but really noticeable when feeding. She misses the first strike usually. My bee barely has it. You wouldn't really notice it unless you knew what you were looking for. It varies in each snake.

Not for sale as of yet. To my knowledge there's only 2 in the world. I know Mark Mandic has sold 100% het pied 50% het Axanthic males for $650. The price most likely has come down in the past 2 years though.

btw what makes this snake have no brown? i think it has no brown at least. and if thats not it then why does it have whitish silver

As I mentioned the Axanthic gene. It does it to all combos. Check out google for axanthic pinstripes or whatever. Unfortunately as adults they usually brown out. This lightning pied, the last I saw updated pics, hasn't really though. Very cool.
