Shrinking photos

is there a way to make pictures smaller? Mine are over 1mb each pic and are way to big to fit one the screen. Thanks for any help.

Any good image or photo software should be able to do the trick.

What kind of camera are you using Kyle? Mine has a little button that make a "quick pic" making a copy of the 1mb image at about 50 -60 kb, if you have a digital camera maybe you also might have something like that.

For more control I suggest using an image program such as Paintshop Pro or Adobe Photoshop.

I recommend

Try Irfanview. It's freeware and does a pretty good job.

windows paint only will do this on XP, and even then it's cropping and resizing features are limited and clumsy at best.

hear, hear. I am using the edit and resize functionality in Paint in Windows XP, and it has really limited features.

zouleous, I am going to give Irfanview a shot, thanks for the tip.
