Helix controls.....

it will be here this upcoming week, so i have a couple questions....obviously , i will want to put the probe on the hot spot...but anyone got any good tips/tricks to keep the snake away from it as well as protecting the probe it self?

Grant,

I duct tape (white tape to match the melamine) it to the floor of the enclosure under the RHP in a large cage. Sometimes the snakes will lay on the probe and cause the cage to get extra hot or cold but usually this doesn't last long. Some people dangle it from the ceiling of the enclosure but I've have big burms rip the probe out of the unit doing this.......so, now it's taped down. If you need pics of how I do it I could take some for you.

If it is for a rubbermaid rack I setup one rubbermaid unit, duct tape it to the papertowel substrate over the heat tape and then don't use that rubbermaid.
