so latley ive been looking for a lizard/iguana/chameleon type of friend. well i read alot about chameleons but i dont think im ready to take on one of them so i got a baby albino leapod gecko

hes awesome!! so far hes been sleeping all day though, and ill need any advice you guys can give

hes pretty tiny so id definitely get him off that substrate and on paper towels asap.

I know next to nothing about them but that one is indeed very cute ...

@Citysnakes why would the size matter for substrate?? Sorry as mentioned i know very little about them but do prefer a natural substrate for my animals...

WOW it is tiny. I would put it on paper towel as Julian said. This is because on a loose substrate it could easily ingest a piece and choke or get impacted. They are nocturnal so they will sleep most of the day. Make sure you have a couple hides for it, and heat pads are best for leos. You are going to need some tiny crickets for that fella LOL.
Leos are pretty easy to care for so as long as you have done some research you should do fine. Just keep handling to a minimum as it is a new animal, you don't want to stress it.

thanks fo the help guys... the dude at the pet shop said that the substrate would be okay? and it was on the same kind of stuff at the store...

i will if i absolutly have to though, thanks again guys... i have to confess i have been handeling him about 3 min. - 5 min. a day though so far... is that bad?

Most pet store empolyees are not experts. In fact, a lot of them know nothing at all, or know faulty information. This isn't to say that they are all ignorant, lol, but some are worse than others..
I wouldn't handle for the first week or so at all to keep stress down and help it acclimate without bothering it and scaring the little thing. If you already have handled it, you can't exactly 'take it back', but that doesn't mean you should continue, wait a few more days. 3-5 mins won't kill it but let him settle in
