Cal. king tank size help

What would be the SMALLEST dementions i could use (ie width, length height ) to house an adult ca. king. thnx

That really depends on the size of your kingsnake. But with any snake, you should house it in an enclosure where the length of one side x the front (or back) is equal to the length of the snake. That is the absolute minimum for the snake to be able to stretch out enough to digest. I have a desert kingsnake and he is in a sterilite container in my rack that is slightly larger than a 20-gallon tank, floor-space wise. The height is not as important, but if you're not using a rack system, a 20-gallon tank should be a good size.

thats more than enough room for like 5 king snakes. but you shouldnt keep them together unless you;'re breeding them.
48 LONG x24 WIDE x16 TALL is MORE than adequate for a 6' adult king.

6 foot by 4 foot by 2 foot is ridiculous and a waste of money and space. you could put a big monitor or a blood python in that or somethign

Ya for real i have a Brazilian rainbow boa and my cage im building is 6 feet long by 3 feet deep by 4 feet high and that is for a snake that loves a big cage and wants to climb a little. From what i'm told king snakes don't really need a ton of space.

I still would think that 72" long is a bit excessive. You can go 4-5 feet long instead and still have an impressive display cage that is better for the snake. But I don't think your dimensions would hurt.

We have a 4' x 2' tall x 13" enclosure for our BP, and it's a great display in our family room.

Golly gee--he's out--WTF? This is two days in a row--and he just ate Sunday! Must be in a growth spurt!

The cage im building is 6' long x 3' wide x 4' high. it is going to be awesome started really building it a couple days ago but going kinda good cuz i was planning everything for a couple months. im going to try and post some pics in the next couple days. i was going to wait to get the grout painted on the styrofoam that i have to look like rocks glued to the walls of the tank but i can't contain the excitement anymore so im going to have to take some pics and post them early.

nope big foam sheets that are cut into random rocklike shapes and then fit together like a puzzle. then i shave them down on the edges to give them a rock look and then i will paint on a grout mix to make them look real. it is taking so long to piece everything together and cut the pieces to make them fit with little to no gaps. I have used great stuff before and will be using it to make the ornaments like the waterfall and stuff for the inside, but it is easier to build with the sheets of foamboard and then fill in cracks with great stuff.
