Individual housing is your best bet. Group housing is NOT the way to go. When snakes are young is when they are most likely to eat one another. Snakes should only be kept together for breeding purposes. As for the tail thing if she was an adult & him as well I would say she was showing she is receptive to breed. In the case of yours I'd say its more of a warning or marking gesture. Whether you realize it or not keeping them together puts them under undue stress & unnessicary risks. Mark
