Re: heat a plywood cage 3/4inch thick

if your using it for heat only , i would sugest a ceramic heat emitter combined with a dimmer unit, if it is also for light then i would go with a zoomed 150-200W heat bulb depending on ventilation and enclosure size .
as far as i have heard , using different colour lights can mess with the reptiles vision , i don't use coloured lights so this is not my opinion just what i have been told.

another very usefull trick that works very well is to use a small computer fan (princess auto sells them for 2$) at one end of the enclosure and a simple fresh air return vent cover that you would put on your wall in your house on the other end . install the fan so it is pulling the stagnant air out of the enclosure and the fresh air comes in the vent on the other side. this method is very usfull to keep a healthy atmosphire inside the enclosure and keeps constant fresh air for your reptile . if your interested in seeing some pictures let me know and i will show you what i mean .

hope i helped . tty later
