Smile NEWBIE here..lol

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and new to taking care of my first snake..its a columbian red-tail boa. I got the majority of how to take care of this snake. I've read a lot on them. So anyone got some advice for a newbie or any cool experiences they would like to share?? Thanks!

Yes. You hear it all the time, but somehow I have to learn through experience.

If your hand smells like rats, do NOT put your hand in the enclosure.

Also if your boa is a Columbian it is not a "redtail". This is a name that folks apply to commons for marketing purposes. True redtails are Peruvians, Guyanans, Surinams etc. Mark

So anyone got some advice for a newbie
Just make sure you got your stuff straight when it comes to your husbandry and feeding schedule. Also start hook training him now. Doesn't have to be a hook but use something to start conditioning him to know when it is feed time and when it is play time.

hi, this is my 1st time here, so hi everyone, ..I'm typing 1-handed hear cause I just brought my new baby columbian home, she's in my other hand!..i love her...I have 2 ball pythons....?..should I expect them to get along well with the new baby..all 3 are about the same length, the columbian is quite thinner than both the ball pythons though, should she be thicker as well I'm wondering now.?..I love how she is sooo much more active than my pythons!

Do you plan on housing them all together ?? Not a good idea if so. I think most will agree with me, never house more than 1 snake to an enclosure.
