New snake HELP

Hey

I just got a new Hog Island Boa. I have him set up in his new viv with a red pine climbing tree. I seem to remember someone mentioning I should stay away from pine stuff...

Should this climbing tree thing be a problem?

thanks - i'll post some pics when I take some!

Re: New snake HELP

pine isnt great by all means, but im sure what you were told was to stay clear away from cedar, the oils in these trees acts as an irritant to reptiles(most species, including humans), most will probably tell you pine is fine not to worry, but really... for a chunk of wood why risk your snakes health, good luck and happy herping, cant wait to see the pics

Re: New snake HELP

Pine logs especially with leach oils and sap even after thay have been sitting awhile.....it can get rather messy and probably should be avoided.
