Overfeeding

This is probly a dumb question but can you overfeed a bp? He had his first meal for me on sunday afternoon, the store was out of adults so he had a hopper today they got in more mice (thursday) so I thought I would try and he took it excellently. I was just wondering if every 4 days is too much?

Re: Overfeeding

Generally, a ball will only eat if it's hungry, opportunistic feeder or not. I stick to once every 4-7 days uo to a year, and tehn every 7-10 days after that.

Re: Overfeeding

I had a Ball go 3 months without eating. In my experiance, if they are not hungry they will not eat.

Re: Overfeeding

Some snakes will overeat, just make sure that he is on a reasonable schedule. As he gets older and starts eating larger mice, you can start increasing the amount of time between meals. If he starts getting too fat, there are a few signs you can look for. A good Ball Python book or experienced herp vet will be able to help you.
