JAMIE:

We must have been thinking the same today.
I was with my nephew today at a pet shop to to show him some fish. He is always fascinated by them. So we checked it out and I saw fresh water sting rays, heard they are in shops but never seen them there before, and to my surprize they even looked healthy, couldn' t say that about there Discus display or other set ups but was still surprized the sting rays looked that good. Only ever saw sting rays in a tank from a friend who actually built a 1800 gallon tank with the works. Seeing it from the front you would think you were in the Amazon river bed looking at them up close.

Oh well my 2 cents, but a Rock Python in a shop is something of a surprize too

You can find those animals in Chain stores ,I know because we sell to some of the Super Pet stores and they have bought all that stuff from us in the past.I guess it really matters who is working the Reptile section in those stores.

I've seen quite a few fresh water sting rays, and almost bought one too, but decided on some cichlids. The store "Big Als" usually has them. They're truly facisnating little creatures.

Hump I live in Whitby/Osh, But the Super Pet I was at was in Belleville. I go to it all the time when I am up there, at least 2 times a month but the usually anly have corn and kings in there. Once I seen a BP. But to see ann Afrock and BCI I was quite suprised. Where I live in Whitby/Osh I dont expect to see any boids because they are illegal.

In whitby/oshawa, you cant have any boid species.

it doesnt make sense, because there you could own an adult croc monitor, but not a spotted python. I always found that funny.

At least, those were the laws a 2 years ago when I lived there.

Cheers,
Justin

Well as Jessy And Justin said, All boids are not allowed it is a stupid law and I have heard people have tried to get them to change it but had no sucess. Dosent mean people dont keep them you just dont see them in any pet stores. So thats probley why I was so suprised when I seen them in a super pet.

They have the same by-law in Burlington. It states that retail stores can not sell boids. They don't enforce anything beyond that. No boid patrols!
