It just proves that the person driving the truck was an idiot, thats all, anyone who would do that to a poor dog, let alone any animal is a loser, I will not continue, because I am a dog lover and I don't want to post something to get me banned.

This reminds me of a trip I took to my first Red Deer Show, years back. I decided to make this trip by leaving late a night and making the opening hour at the show. I took off around 9pm and was on the highway for almost 4 hours before reaching the city / town of Brandon. Anyone that does this drive and knows the area knows there is a big dip in the road from driving on a somewhat flat highway before reaching Brandon.
Being super dark just before seeing the city lights I came up on this dip in the road. Then things got really dark and I put on my high beans on the car. I was freaked out because those lights saved me and a heard of deer. Literally they swarmed the full highways thinking a group of 20 or so. I only saw glowing eyes everywhere. So I slowed down and saw this group up close and personal. Started honking creeping through the group, breaking them up and getting them off the road. Not all were being cooperative. But I tried enough light and horn alarms as well and my car alarm panic siren to spook them off the road.
I was concerned about seeing them all over the road and some sitting down as well, talk about a safety issue for them. There was another reason as well to make all this noise and lights. I was driving a bit fast past some truckers and passed them 5 - 10 minutes ago and though while in this situation with the deer would the truckers stop in time. So I stayed near the heard with my panic emergency lights on and blowing the horn to get the truckers to notice caution in this area.
All in all they all slowed down and we all went on our way knowing that heard moved into the forrest area away from the road.
Sorry was hoping to tell this story much shorter
Tony

That's absolutely sick. I honestly do not understand how people can work that way. How someone can purposely want to inflict pain on an innocent animal

That is true.... I just watched the news and here another person stabbed to death... 17 year old pregnant girl... by her BF... Sickens me.. I used to think this was a nice City... but lately I don't know... So many murders, and shootings..... one was right across from my house just a couple weeks ago... scary, seeing as I walked through that exact spot 30 mins prior....
sorry a little off topic..

Really.... same here... havn't heard of anyone else... My friends and Family think I'm nuts I won't even answer the phone if I don't know the number....
I'm sure they would contact you... their job is to look out for the well being of animals...So they would follow up somehow I'm sure... I'm just glad that they treat crimes against animals seriuosly with punishment... when they are caught that is!!! Too many sickos getting away with too many crimes against animals

I'm not sure of what i would have done or thought if i had been in your position... I'm sure it wouldnt have been anything positive... Probably thrown a rock or something at the car to make the guy get out and then... ...

2 minutes, I would like 2 minutes with any of those twisted SOB's. Give them a taste of what pain feels like. Nothing and I mean nothing in this world makes me rage more than people who hurt Dogs ( I have 2 Great Danes and a Rescue Grey Hound).
Wow, time to change my sig
I am sorry you had to see that but I am glad you did your best to help. Remember that person will pay dearly for the pain he has caused, hopefully 3 fold.

This past semester (september - january) I took a co op course (like volunteering but school credits are involved) at the Ontario Veterenary College, in guelph. I cant count the number of dogs and cats that I saw come in because they were hit by a car. There are just too many people that can avoid a situation with just a gentle tap of the breaks and a controled swerve. Im 16 and in drivers training and they teach you that you swerve to save the most amout of lives, if there is a way to avoid a small animal without putting yourself, ur passengers, and others in danger then you should steer away from the animal, honking works well too.
Back at the animal hospital I had the oppertunity to help bring in a deer that was hit by a car, It was horrible. Deer are just the right height that the bumper takes out there legs and the body goes directly into the windsheild. This case the driver was ok but we had to put the deer down, it was one of my hardest days at the co op.
Thanks
