Do you really need permission from someone to put their picture as your desktop?

Here's my desktop pic. Picture was taken by JDReptiles and is used by permission. It is my all time favorite snake pic. It's a madagascan vine snake for anyone who is wondering. Can you believe these little cuties are venomous!!! I was looking for some for sale but I'm having second thoughts after I found that out. Does anyone know of any caresheets for these little dudes?

Not sure, but because of the copyright law, its not a bad idea. Besides if it were me, I would like to know who and where my photos were and goin, lol.

I totally agree but once you post it online its basically open to absolutly everyone connected to the internet. How could you control that, other then not posting pics at all?
Question on copyright laws. I never put anything on the pictures I post but lets say one day I find it in a magazine lets say, is their something that could be done or does it now "belong" to them??

That is a good point, that actually never occured to me.
If I figure out how to post pics from my desktop, theres another I use quite a bit. It's a pic of a very nice looking ball.
