I use sterlite containers in a rack and they are great. I agree the lids suck so having a rack makes a big difference. I used to use the handyman's tool DUCT TAPE to keep the lids secure before building a rack. I think Sterlite is cheaper than rubbermaid as well.
Instead of 'drilling' holes a wood burning tool works great--no mess and no cracking!
Wood burning kits used to be available (maybe still are) and were great gifts for little boys. My son just happened to have one sitting around and voila......it now has a use! (it is quick too... zap, zap)

hehehe, I smell a new product on e-bay, Bids start at 10$ pre-drilled rubbermaids, lmao, oh well, goot thing I bough more than i needed a while back still have some extras
I get all my rubbermaids from Home Hardware, as Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire don't have the sizes I want, and they're carrying more of the sterlite containers. At Home Hardware I can even order them in if they don't have it in stock. Try checking that place out.

Thanks all. I found my rubbermaids!!! the lids are different...they snap instead of locking, but they're basically the same size...clear lids too! found them at Lowes.
i was not looking foward to sterilite racks. no offense to those who use them, i'm just a hardcore rubbermaid kinda guy
