Smile Fire Skinks

I just brought home my new pair of fire skinks. They are so beautiful. I love them already. The female burrowed as soon as she could. The male is taking in the surroundings. Just wanted to let ya'll know my good news

They are awesome lizards, even though you hardly see them if you give them enough substrate they stay out of sight most of the time! I have four juveniles that I got this summer, such cool colors on these guys! Good luck with them!

Yes, I agree they are neat creatures. I recently obtained a pair from Lowell Shaw in Calgary. Agreed you don't see too much of them, but once you "dig them out" they seem to stay around on the surface for quite a while. What does everyone feed theirs?

Andrea.

When i had mine, it wasn't a problem of what to feed, it was more of what not to feed lol. He take anything out of my hand, and sometimes took my hand with him hehe. He loved silkies, mealies/supers, basically any invert he could fit in his mouth and the few pinkies he'd occaisonaly get for being a good little boy I tried to feed him a piece of carrot just to see if he would take it and to my surprise took it right out of my hand and actually took two pieces. Never considered to continue feeding him any vegetables tho, he was quite content with his carnivorous diet.

Thnx. Yeah they are beautiful, i'm thinking about getting a pair sometime soon, really miss having them. "both of mine are buried" not a surprised there lol. Might spend quite a bit of time under the substrate but when you catch them out, they're beautiful little buggers.

WOW, that is a nice looking skink. The BTS never did anything for me, but that I may consider :P I'm already getting grief for having to many herps and i only have 4 snakes and 4 geckos. What's up with that?
