Hi,
I was just wondering how often everybody handles their gecko? I would just like to know because I have been hesitant because of the fact I may stress them out.
Thanks
I try to touch my hatchlings only when i need to clean the tanks (I disinfect one a week)
I handle my juveniles a little more often as long as they are eating well...a few times a week.
My adults com and romp around more often...as long as I know they have no parasites (after having fecal exams done)
sometimes one will ride around on my should while I do things (dishes, or whatever)
I don't handle my hatchlings unless I need to. But my juvies get handled almsot daily, usually not for more than a few minutes - if even that. Adults not as frequently but for longer duration.
For me it depends on the gecko. The ones that tend to be more jumpy I try to handle a little more often to tame them down so that when I do to clean the tanks it's easy to move them. One of my adults just does not care if she's taken out. She pretty much just sits there so I only take her out when I have extra time and when I'm cleaning her cage. The others I do about 5-10 minutes a couple times a week.
