Talking "Free Dumb-Breeder Rack" - PART 6: V - The Final Battle

Ok, I finally got around to taking some pics of my rack fully-built and in full use. Here it is:

And with my 66% poss het Irish son, Tommy!

The total cost of materials (not including heat tape) was $433.71. The thermostat cost about $280.00 after shipping. 40' of 11" Heat tape, once it gets to my door, costs about $225.00.

For a whopping total of: $938.71

I could have saved a bit of money here and there on some of the materials but not too many. I might have been able to shave off $50-$100, but that's about it.

All in all, I am very happy with it so far. I'm not totally convinced it was worth a grand, but only time will tell.

One final picture of the only injury I sustained during the whole project. I was literally screwing in one of my last screws and the screwdriver bit slipped off the screw head and went THROUGH my thumbnail!!!! OUCH! LOL

Anyway, a big thanks to all those that followed along with these LOOONG posts. I hope some of you found them at least a bit useful!

Nice job! You have keep us all in suspense and I am sure glad you got this last post up. I was about to die! Sorry about your nail. mY dad was screwing in a screw while putting up a fence and a screw went through the right side of his index finger. Barely far enough inward to keep the screw ij the finger, anyway he didn't stop the job and until after he had finished did he notice that he had screwed his hand almost all the way through. lol, anyway GREAT JOB!

LOL, yeah, the tumb hurt like a son-of-a-B! I think I managed to squeeze out just about every swear the english language has ever known in a two minute span! lol

Jeff, yeah it's pretty crazy. And it's all the balls fault! I bought 1.1 just to "round out" my collection a bit and now look at me... working towards 40 anytime now!

Thanks for all the compliments, guys and gals!

Awesome series of posts Tim - very well done.

I'm assuming it will be one more item for your webpages FAQ and how-to-do-it section? Great!
