That is MUCH too cold, his cool side should be in the 80's, his hot side at 90! Never let it fall as low as you have it!
also, a 15 gallon is MUCH too big for a baby ball python! Get a small rubbermaid, put holes in it and wait till next year to put him in the 15g.

Get rid of the sticks, and get a full-cover hide. Balls get stressed very easily. Up those temps to at least 90, but more likely 92-93. Put him in an 11 liter rubbermaid and give him some light, getting him out of the closet, but still keep him out of a higher traffic area. Pick up a book (or two, or three) on the captive husbandry of ball pythons. Read them, and all you can.

There is a big difference between 80-89. You need to be more specific.

okay...... hot side at 91.6 and the cool side at 83.2.

also, originally I thought this was a baby, but he wrote and said that's what he came in when he originally got him, so I'm thinking he's either from last year or at least a few months old. if he's from last year, the 15 gallon is okay.

AND don't forget the air temp has to be dead-on at 81.75 deg.

(Natrix all these exact temps are tongue in cheek).
