she probably laid the eggs on top because the pure sand is not strong enough to hold a good tunnel. Also if you are going to be leaving her in there overnight put some branches for her to climb up on. If chams are on a flat surface for too long it puts alot of strain on there feet. If she was dark before laying and bright green now she might be finished although two eggs is not very many at all. Are her eggs fertile? If not she could be having problemes laying because some or one of the eggs might be miss-shaped or two are fused together. Hopefully this is not so because egg bound chameleons usually require the assistance of a vet to finish egg laying.

2 eggs humm check the sand she if she layed put her back in the laying thing if she wants to dig again wich wouldent be a good sign.

She has layed over 20 eggs in total, and is doing just fine now thanks to everyone for their advice and help
