Word around these parts is Ottawa has a new goalie
Thanks goodness for Melnyk, Muckler, and Murray. Its about time things are done right with this team, and from the moves made in the time Melnyk has been owner (Bondra, Murray as new coach, Bonk gone and Hasek agreeing to terms) you gotta love the beginning of our new look. No matter what anyone says, I think the addition of Bondra will reak havic on goaltenders this coming season (if there is one). Murray as coach will allow out finess players (Havlat, Spezza, Bondra, Alfie) more offensive freedom, which should be a good fit with workhorses such as Hossa, Fisher, and Chara. Hasek took a 7 million a year cut (2 million now) to join us, and if everything goes as planned, there should be a press conference sometime this week to make the deal final. All I can hope for now is no work stoppage and I ready for a nice craaaaazy winning season.

condtional draft pick.. That's a shot in the arm to Lalime.. But all St. Louis was missing, was a goalie.. Things could be interesting in St. Louis next year (if there's hockey)..

you know sometimes it amazes me...I mean you call yourself a Sens fan?...so quick to blame Lalime for a bad season, obviously forgetting what he did for the team last playoff. Personally im sad to see Lalime go...(mind you i know him personally) and let me tell you...it's not his skills that were lacking with that man...it was the pressure of failing that finally broke the seriously talented player, all the people like you, that were to quick to blame the goalie, as opposed to taking a look at the rest of the team...it's a crying shame
Just My 2 cents
Kimo

I think Lalime was great in the playoffs. It wasn't his fault that the team couldn't solve Belfour..

you know its a pitty, and in Lalimes case, he was told one to many times by the public, that he sucked...and he started to beleive it (IMO) but thats what happens...

If that's the case, it's his own fault then.. These guys get paid big bucks to play hockey.. Not worry about what the fans are saying.. I'm sure every player in the league has been criticized for their play at one time or another, but that doesnt mean they should start to believe they suck...

I've got $50 that says Lalime finishes next season with a better GAA than Hassek. Hassek is not what he used to be 10 years ago, he proved that in Detroit. His unorthodox style served him well when he was young, but doesn't even have good technical skills to fall back on as he ages.

i liked lalime, for a sen. Why pick out one when pretty much the whole team sucked. certainly many to "blame", or maybe belfour did a good job, as much as i hate to admit toronto did good. Now what im pissed about is the 6th game when calgary scored. thats a crying shame to me. ill be whining for months!

I do call myself a fan Kimo. I neveer did like Lalime and I am sure as hell happy he is gone. As for Hasek, I always did like him (from the first time we drove to Buffalo to see him play), and even if it turns out that he doesnt sign with us (it should be official tomorrow) I think Prusek is much better than Lalime anyways.
As for Hasek having a higher gga next season, that is hardly that stat (in my mind) that counts. The most important is save % and last year Lalime's sucked. Most goalies (considering only 19 shots on a game) would have a much lower gaa (higher save %) Hasek with over 23 shots a ggame had a higher save% and a lower gaa.
Im not saying things could happen, but get your stuff straight before posting.

As it is, I hear your beloved Toronto can't get Belfour to re-sign a contract ... bye bye Eddy.
