UTH with backing still on it?

Can a UTH be used with the backing still on it? I don't know if this would work anyways, as I wanted to use it to heat a rubbermaid, and it might just melt the plastic or something...

But if there's some way of doing it, it would be greatly appreciated It's just going to be temporary... for about 2 weeks or so...

Merci
Jen

Leave the backing on. Just put the rubbermaid on top of the UTH.

Never tried it with the backing on (I think some have plastic film on the paper backing), but I do place a peice of parchment paper on the back of mine so I can reuse it...

Cool

It doesn't overheat and melt the plastic or anything? Cuz I know that when you attach it to the bottom of a glass aquarium, you've got to make sure to put those feet on so there's some room for air to circulate...
