Finally have pictures!!
After many attempts, I was finally able to take a half decent photo of my new widow, Shelob. I took hundreds of pictures but only one of them turned out somewhat visible. Here she is; my Shelob!

I couldn't see what I was supposed to, so I stuck it in Photoshop for a minute and came out with this...

Nice!
I recently got two female Black Widows myself but unfortuantly my pictures have all sucked! Mine are not mature yet, and their small size makes it literally impossible for my crap cam to get a good pic.
Here is one from today before I removed a meal:

I am definitly anticipating adult colors. Both have molted since being here, and eaten. They are definitly neat!

Mine quadrupled its size since I got it, at least that much. He is still a baby though, has most of his browns and greys.

Very nice pic, Emily (with help from Linds).
May I ask what you are keeping yours in? where does it hang out? In the middle, on a web?
I am debating keeping mine in a tall glass pickle jar, or a small rectangular aquarium...I'm not sure if it will try to escape or run around or not(like a pinktoe). If it does, the pickle jar will be more secure, though less visible because its round.
Any tips on housing?

D, I use critter carriers. You know, those plastic pla-house things? My widow made a web across the entire top of her enclosure. But yea, since the top slides open and since she hangs upside down from the web, it's so easy to just slide open the top and drop a cricket right into the web.
