Talking Getting my Blood finally!!

YAY, well I paid for them today. I am getting two female red bloods from Kevin Harris. Technically one is my brothers but since he can't take her home she will live with me and he will have visitation rights!!! LOL. I am planning on building them new cages within a month but for now I will keep them in my Ball Python Rack, since they are under a year old.

For the height on their cages I was thinking of going with 1ft. I wanted bigger than my BP's cages since they get so much heftier than the BP's but figured doubling the height should be ok. The cages for them as adults are going to be 6'X2'X1' LxWxH. That should be ok right or should I go with 2ft height?

Thanks can't wait to go get them, I've been planning and waiting for 4 yrs!! LOL, finally!

Glad to hear of another owner! I suppose 1ft on the height is ok. They don't climb up much, but they are quite hefty as adults, and may be 6 inches high, so that's half the height of your enclosure..
I'd think 1 1/2' to 2' high would be better. Actually, 6'x3'(w)x 2'(h) seems optimum. At least that's what mine will get..
BTW, are they Sumatran, banka or Maylasian?
ax.

I'm not sure, if Kevin pops in here maybe he can answer that. I will email him and ask.

Kevin let me know that they are Malaysians. I'm going to have to go back and figure out the differences between localities. They are CH as well.

That would be too hot I believe that Bloods need no higher than 90. I am using individual heat pads still so I can regulate the heat per container.

ohhh Ok, just wondering!

I think that their temps are 88-92 degrees (From N.E.R.D.S sumatran blood python care sheet.) and the cool side 75-80, sound about right? Thats what I'm keeping mine at.
