Cheap water bowls for small herps...here's a good deal

I've been buying these for some time now.
They were out of stock over winter, but just came in, so I picked up a dozen cases for a huge investment of 12 bucks.LOL
These little Ramekins are 3 for a dollar at most Dollarama stores. There are also bigger ones for 2 for a buck.
It's a heck of a good deal for anyone with rosy boas, sand boas, or for that matter, any baby snakes to house, or raise up. Just thought I would pass this info on. Never forget Dollarama when looking for cheap herp room supplies. From fake plants to screw drivers and measuring tapes, they have some great stuff for a looney.

I just use deli cups.
I glue one of them to the bottom of the tank and then put a new one on top of it. Thus if the water bowl gets too dirty all I have to do is throw it away and use a new one.

I think that I got my 'water bowls' for $50 dollars for 2500 of them~~ (or something like that)

But yours looks a whole lot better than mine~~

Out here they are called "The Dollar Store" or "A buck or two" - and Sheila likes to check them out at each city we are at. Amazing deals on lots of nifty things.

We have about 5 different chains of "dollar stores" here, but I'll check them out... although Simon's idea sounds kinda good too, hehehe

I too have been getting those for some time. In one of our "Dollar Tree" store types, they have a set of 3. One fits inside the other and then a third, so there's 3 different sizes. It works out fine for me. They wash easily and are heavier than the PVC caps I use also. They also have larger "dog" and "cat" bowls that work well for larger cages/herps. I don't think your snake will mind the little doggie footprints on his bowl

I have the steel pet bowls from there, mmmm, lots and lots of dollarama stuff in my house

I was using dishes for food for a little while in my mouse cage, but as soon as they get in there they kick out most of it and crpa in the rest. If they like it better on the ground all dirty, then they can have it there!

Do your rodents actually eat off the floor of their cage? The guy I get my feeders from is going to a system where they eat the food through some wire mesh that covers the tops of the tubs. He says he's switching to that method because his rodents won't eat the urine soaked food off the cage floor and as a result a lot is wasted. Just wondering if you've found the same.

Killa, the way you describe is the way most mouse breeding is done.
Other than cleaning, Its a low maintenance dream... I don't really understand all this messing with seeds and stuff that can't be hopper fed.I guess that's Ok if the mice are also pets but it sounds like a lot of work, and you're quite right, they wont eat soiled food.
I fill my Lab chow hoppers about once a month, and that is it for feeding.
For weanling holding bins I use big Rubbermaids, and I make screen baskets for the chow and that keeps it out of the substrate
