Unless you have some expensive gear you won't get a perfectly constant temperature. I use a portable space heater to heat my snake room, as I'm sure many others do too. My particular space heater, a regular Black & Decker from Zellers keeps my room between 79 F and 84 F. Not exactly what you would call a constant temperature but certainly close enough.

I use this as the ambient temperature for boids (obviously they get extra at their hot spots) and only heat source for colubrids. I'm also going to be incubating corn snake eggs in there this year without any additional heating.

If you have a lot of snakes I think a heated room is the way to go, it cuts out a lot of extra stuff you need to keep proper temps.

Does your house have heat? I don't have to heat my room where the reptiles are kept, it's kept at the same temp. as the rest of the house.

Country:
I use a space heater w/ thermostat to keep the room heated to a certain temperature. At night I usually just turn it off, usually ends up dropping down a couple degrees. When I am cooling my snakes I open the window during the night.

yes my house has heat. but my room is in an L shape and i was thinking of building a wall at the part of the _ and make my room just like this l so the other part would be for snakes. got me. well anyway that part of the room doesn't have any vents for the heat anyway. it is good though becuse when the heat starts up the heat changes rapidly.
